In my continuing efforts to document some of my experiments in creating 3D models from static images and to demo what’s possible with different tools I present today’s post about Regard3D. Regard3D is a structure from motion application. It’s easy to use.
I took a series of pictures of my housemate following a fixed path (it’s structure from motion, after all). Unfortunately she kept laughing when I’d take the photos. So I go her to close her eyes and be still. She still started to laugh when she could sense I was getting towards taking photos. Hence the bias in the angles and the closed eyes in the final model:

A sleeping cat though is much easier to to prevent from laughing:

But they do move their head to see what you’re doing:

But they don’t tend to move their little foots:
